My twin girls are 19 mo, and your blog gives me a preview of what's coming. Love you sense of humor.

I am looking into buying a kiddie table with chairs and remembered you mentioned this folding one from Leaps and Bounds. It seems nicer than the ones from Target or IKEA, but pricier. So I was wondering if you and the girls still like the one you have got. Do you believe it was a good investment?

I would really appreciate your response.

Thanks,

Anyway, I think it'll be great for arts and crafts! I'm not brave enough to let him eat where he can get up. And the highchair thing is working pretty well for now.

Yes, he does occaisionally wander around while eating, but at least he is eating. Breakfast he gets to watch Bob the Builder while he eats so that keeps his attention a little bit more focused. But for $30 it was a great purchase and I don't care if he colors on the table and chairs and he sits and eats like a big boy. I am sure the girls will get used to it and enjoy it for a long time.

They look so grown up! My mom bought Michael a little plastic chair last spring. He sat on it only briefly and spent the rest of his time climbing on and falling off of it. So I hid it.

Now at day care all the little ones sit around their little table with their little chairs and somehow it works out. I may pull the chair out of the closet and see if he's civilized enough now.

For meals, though, I prefer the bondage of the high chair.

She ate all of her meals there for a long time. Now a kindergartener, she prefers to eat meals at the dinner table, but she still uses the little table every day for snacks and all of her crafts. The table was a great Xmas gift for you to get the girls--they'll enjoy it for years.

We are having such a b**ch of a time getting our son to sit at the table. He's been standing on his chair (which ends dinner immediately), going from lap to lap. We gave up the high chair forever ago, and he even rebelled against our strap-on booster seat. The little table is SUCH A GREAT idea! Thank you!!!!

They were in space saver high chairs sitting on the floor because we have a booth kitchen table which can't strap those chairs on. They amazingly took to it immediately. They love sitting at the table and don't try to get up until I get over there to clean them up. They haven't been knocking their stuff off too much or stealing each other's stuff too much. At meal time they just run over and sit down.

I was soooo pleasantly surprised about it. They are like big boys now. Sunrise, Sunset......

The getting up and moving around wears off pretty quickly (even quicker if they are hungry). And, the independence it affords is very appropriate for this age. You'll be amazed at how fast Elsa and Clio discover they can help by bringing their dishes to the sink and throwing away their napkins after a meal!

However, I noticed their feet don't touch the floor. This is a good thing!! My kids at work have learned the great fun of using their feet to scootch their chairs back farther and farther from the table, backwards riding-toy style. Now that is frusterating! I finish serving one table their food and the diners at the other table are already half way across the room dropping food and dripping milk the whole way! Aw well, what's a meal without having to explain that we can't reach our food when we are not at the table at least twenty times?!
