I have nothing to contribute to the dialogue, but I feel compelled to share a cute story. My name is Kayt, and when I met my husband, his neice was about Clio and Elsa's age. When he introduced me to her, her face lit and she said, "Like 'happy birthday cake?'" and proceeded to call me Cake until she was about five.

I used to have my own birthday game when I was little. My mother would ask me to hand her a maxi pad sometimes and I thought they resembled a birthday present because they were wrapped up. So everytime I would not hand it to her until I sang Happy Birthday to you to her. She thought it was cute at first but eventually she would just be like "Hand me the dang pad April!" :P Wow now I realize why she must have been so annoyed at me.

That is awesome that they created a fun game to play. My boys do that too. Eric likes to put a blanket over the slide and crawl through it like a little house. We started it but he will just decide to start doing it out of the blue. They also make up what seems to me to be nonsense games.

Our weekends have been birthday parties galore! Since March we have been to 3 kid birthday parties and another one this Sat and another one at the end of the month. So our boys are getting birthday overload as well. Everyone they know is born in around now. We also have some adult birthday parties thrown in there too! I guess everyone gets busy in the fall???!!! haha

MY daughters love to "cook things" for me and wrap them up so it's like getting something in the drive thru (something they see me do waaaay too often). But just like in real life, the order is always messed up going thru the drive thru!

My daughter loves to "wrap" bath toys in a washcloth and have me unwrap them during bath time...over and over again. We've been going through a lot of washcloths, though, because everyone in the family has to have their own wrapped present. There are lots of books about birthdays, too. Her favorite is "Where is Baby's Birthday Cake?"

Michael went through a stage when every time he saw a candle, any kind of candle, he sang the birthday song. Every cake is birthday cake, of course.

Isn't it great that they can now play independently for a little while? I love the little crazy games they make up with rules that make no sense!
