Band on the Diaper Run

Toothpicks for Giants

Florida, thank you for your sun and great shows!

We got to catch up with old friends (and their newest members)

We saw the beach complete with sea turtle nests and wild iguanas.

The crowds at every show were enthusiastic (even despite one night of an hour long technical delay).

Soundchecks were enjoyable (especially for Mags)

Magnolia even found some "toothpicks for giants" as she referred to these deorative art pieces outside the hotel in Ft. Lauderdale.

On a side note, we've been told our episode of Yo Gabba Gabbe will air September 23. Magnolia is officially the biggest fan of the show and she has no idea we're going to be on it soon.  I can't wait to see her reaction.  Thankfully she's not embarrassed by us yet.

oh my gosh!  I've been waiting to see your Yo Gabba Gabba episode for so long.  Today was the first day I slept in too late, woke up, turned on Yo Gabba Gabba, and you guys were just finishing up your set :(  even though I saw you guys for only 2 seconds, you looked great!

hopefully it will be on again.  And you MUST blog about Mag's reaction.  And the toothpicks for giants thing?  Dude, she absolutely hilarious.  She's definitely going to be something.

Mates of State

Kori Gardner and Jason Hammel

Kori Gardner is the organ-playing half of the band Mates of State; her husband, Jason Hammel, plays drums. Known for their vocal harmonies and euphoric melodies, Mates of State has been described by critics as "unabashed joy", "honesty at its best", a "two piece with balls", and "a band that you must see live." Their daughter, Magnolia, was born in 2004 and started touring with the band at 10 weeks. June, their second girl, was born early this year. The whole family is touring the world right now.
