Band on the Diaper Run

Magnolia's Bike Tour 2008

Bringing the fancy gold and hot pink bike along was a plus for us since she could ride around the clubs duirng soundcheck, and occasionally venture out onto the city sidewalks.  Given the fact that with the amount of sparkle the bike has, Mags even got some compliments from Ms. Santi herself (aka Santogold)

Going from the bus to the smaller vehicles (that we have graduated to) makes us appreciate the ease of having the bus-and it's ample storage space for kid bikes and gear.  We spent the last few days on 3 planes, 1 van, 1 "party van"  (the only van in the entire town of Aur Claire, MN that could fit us and pick us up so late at night at the town airport, which we were the only people flying into, was a 1970's van decorated with party decals and had in-the-round seating) and now we are squeezed into a car and a minivan. And, to Magnolia's dismay, no bike.  Ahh the memories...

 Portland soundcheck.

Chicago? Can't remember for sure, but she dodged lots of people on her ride.

One of the many HOBs we played with Santogold.

As this leg of tour winds down, I can't decide if Mags had more fun riding her bike around the country, or at Disneyland (btw  Shockingly, I cried at the Disney parade because it was so good, more on that later). Oh how could I have forgotten...actually she had the most fun making music videos at the Zeum in San Francisco.  (Or, at least I had the most fun being her backup dancer) Coming soon, Mags video premeire and her day as a Disney princess-a once total barf inducing idea turned magical moment for mushy parents like myself.

Totally not surprised by the crying during the Disney parade.  Just because since I've been a mom I've cried over some really bizarre stuff.  My husband and I took our girls to ACL this year and whilst watching the break dancers with my girls in the kid tent area I totally teared up.  The girls were sitting in strollers and eating ice cream, no emotions evident while they watched, but who knew? it was a big moment for me.  Apparently Breakin'2/Electric Boogaloo meant more to me than I knew.  BTW, I didn't get to see you at ACL, but my husband did and was super thrilled.

I may not have seen her on her bike, but I'm pretty sure I saw Mags and June at the park in Kalamazoo yesterday being adorable. Soooo cute!

I'd gone for a walk downtown and was surprised when I thought I recognized them. It made me feel better about not being able to go the conert last night.

I was in the Disneyland parade that preceded this new one and I saw people crying all the time, so you aren't alone. I took my 4 year old to see the new parade and when Walt's voice came on, I teared up as well. Being a parent gives you a whole new perspective and a lot of embarrassing moments.

You both did a great job on YGG, and we loved the song. Our son Archer will be on the show tomorrow and he was disappointed that he wasn't on your episode, "Mom, I just want to be on the one with "Saw in the a-knees." That translates into "Fraud in the 80's" in Archer-speak.

PS- As the RSV season starts, I remembered your daughter was hospitalized last year. My daughter caught it too and it was one of the scariest experiences ever. I hope that she stays healthy  now that she is older and less susceptible to catching such a severe case.

I just got a new bike last week!

Of course, it's a Black Vespa, but I guarantee I'm just as gleeful to be riding around on it as Magnolia is on her bike.  LOL  I don't know which I'm happier about, that or my actual license.
