Band on the Diaper Run

Flight and Fight

What is going on with flights?  Jason had to emergency land in Raleigh on the morning of our Jacksonville show.  He was bringing Mags home for her Thanksgiving Feast (big deal at preschool) Then he was rerouted all day and finally missed the final connection to make it in time for the show and so, we didn't get to play.  I was basicaly without a voice at that point anyway but it was a total bummer-considering we drove all the way from Nashville to Jacksonvile Beach and then turned around and headed back 6 hours in the exact reverse direction.

Mags loves seeing her name everywhere we go in the South. On our extended drives, we see "Magnolia" quite often.

The day before she left, Mags laid a serious guilt trip on me by asking why I wasnt coming to her Thanksgiving Feast.  The school changed the date on us after we booked the tour so I couldn't go (unless I wanted to fly home with June too,  just for 3 hours and then fly back to tour the next morning)

It was the first time I ever felt like a working mother who couldn't make one of my kids events.  It will never happen again.  It sucked having her say, "Why don't you just call another band and have them play the concert and you can take me to my party."  I cried. (even though she's totally over it now and happy to take my mom-her fav person)   I am SO fighting the guilt days later.

At least she got to be with us for the majority of this leg of tour.  She was even there when we filmed a thing for ABC news with Dan Harris.  They followed us around for a couple of days.  I'm so afraid I'm gonna look like a lazy mom since I was so tired for a lot of it.  I think it's gonna air this weekend on Good Morning America and maybe the nightly news? But I'm not sure.  We'll update our sites when we know.

BTW-we have an awesome new nanny, Julia,  whom we met at Yo Gabba Gabba so every night she has been telling Mags Yo Gabba stories.  Mags loves it.  They sing the songs daily.   She got to wear one of DJ Lance's hats (Julia does the costumes for the show and she's also the one who does Geela-one of my favorite ETSY stops)

More on our craziness the next time I have a good wireless connection..seriously considering Twitter.

I just saw the report on the news and I say "Bravo" to the both of you.  You are enjoying the best of both worlds, family and work, and seem to be doing well at both.  Don't beat yourself up!  As a stay-at-home, we have our crummy days as well, and the days we don't make it to everything.  All the best to you!! Good job!

I just got done watching the interview on ABC World News. All of you looked wonderful, so no worries. I still can't stop thinking about your show at WVU where Justin and I met you. Thank you both for being such genuinely nice people.

Take it easy.

I just saw your television interview.  How neat!  Just thought I'd say hello to one "homeschooling" mom to another.

I can't wait to read more about your travels. When you do get a good internet connection you may want to have your children check out the free preschool site www.starfall.com It is wonderful for a moment of quiet time for you and learning time for them. :o)  I am not affiliated with them so please don't think I'm a spammer. LOL

Keep on keepin' on! :o)

Kori and Jason - Hey just saw the thing on ABC randomly and I was like wait, I know them!!  I went to KU.  Kori - Regan and I loved you and your best friend with the strawberry blond hair in adpi...ekk, that was so long ago! I am going to try to find the picture of the four of us and scan it in for you.  Jason...I can't think of how we know each other - maybe from Oliver Hall or maybe you were Environmental Studies...not sure.  ANyways, I was Erin Turack - long blond hair, played rugby.  Now I'm a mom, was a teacher...anyways, will check out your music and your site.  Very cool.  Glad you are doing what you love!  erin

I also just watched your interview on abc. I've seen you two live a bunch of times... but I remember one show at a college a few years ago that didn't have the greatest turn out (...but it was cool because it turned into a huge dance party)...anyways i just thought once again, "they are amazing" and so I started telling everyone i met about your music. and I just wanted to say i'm glad you are finally getting the attention you've always deserved! thank you for making wonderful music and being such a cool family.

Hey Kori,

You and Jason are some of the best parents and people I've ever known - I might be a little biased, but it's true - and your kids are so lucky to have so much time with you.  You're going to miss things with your kids, but they get over it.  I've had to miss a few things already, but I make a HUGE deal of having the kids tell me about it.  For Luc, I've even had him write me a little story about what he did, so I can a) make sure he knows I'm interested in his adventures and b) it's a learning device.

And yeah, Twitter it up dude!
