Loved the blog. VERY funny. I especially enjoyed the question regarding Jason doing things with the kids that you'd be upset about. I came home from grocery shopping not too long ago after leaving the kids (age 9, 6 and 3) with my husband, and found my 3 year old's face covered in dirt. Apparently he had been licking my husbands car while I was gone. I wasn't too happy about that one. Really gross.

Hi! I have to join in on the comments now. I've been a fan of the music for years! (LOVE the new album!) & I really love reading this blog of yours. So funny, & so interesting to get a peep into your awesome lives. (sometimes i wish i could hop on the road along with you...) your daughters are so much fun- i love the videos of mags rocking out/dancing especially!

side note- i had a ticket for the oklahoma city show a couple months ago, and couldn't make it from tulsa as planned. wanted to see you & the kids! haha so, come visit TULSA anytime! & keep on bloggin :)

I am a long time reader, first time "commentor". I love your blogs. I agree that it is nice to learn a little about your husband.. My husband is also a drummer and I see a lot of similarities in the personality, must be a drummer thing. i've been a fan since i was a teenager, and along with loving your music, as i get older i grow more intrigued by and envious of your lives (in a mostly healthy way).

i'm sure it has its downfalls, but a life spent traveling the world and playing music for the masses with your family has to be amazing. honestly, i think it's probably just about the best thing i can imagine.

you two are something to aspire to, for sure. thanks for sharing your life with us.

Oh, but I would do the exact same thing too with the stroller running over the toes thing. If nobody's willing to move for a /few seconds/ when you need to get off, THAT'S not cool. It's perfectly understandable to run over some toes when you're sleep-deprived in 110 degree heat--in my opinion, anyway.

I'm glad you guys had a fun and successful tour. I'm bummed I missed you when you came through Cincinnati/Newport, but am excited that you will return this fall for Midpoint! Don't you just love the Southgate House? When you come back, you guys need to try Dewey's pizza, and not just because they're one of the sponsors for the event. :)

I just want to let you know how much I enjoy reading your blog. Never stop, even if you guys go bankrupt and stop touring. I'd still be interested, as creepy as that sounds. I love that you keep your fan base on such a personal level.

Your music is infectious, and I'm happy to say that Mates of State is on my list of 5 bands to see live before I die. You're getting crossed off the list in September at Austin City Limits! Yay!

Maybe prenzel is the new pretzel. And, I got my boots a couple of years ago at Tom Brown In New Haven, CT. Everyone I know did not like them when I bought them and felt free to tell me so but I stayed true to a good pair of boots and now people ask me all the time where I got them. So, thanks for asking and I will be even more proud to wear them. Thanks everyone for the compliments on all the other stuff as well. Sorry I don't reply often but I'll be trying harder :)

My almost 4 year old also says "prenzel" for pretzel. The day she starts saying it correctly my heart might break in sadness - it's one of her last funny language things that I love so much.
