It's obviously portable so your kids could be in school wherever you go. Apparently, homeschool curriculums are really easy to teach and home schooled kids often finish school faster than they would in a more traditional school. Also, there are a lot of groups around just for homeschool kids to get together and socialize. There are sports groups, dance groups etc. depending on what's available where you live.

My thoughts are that as long as you say the word properly most of the time, it should be fine. As long as she generally hears the word properly, she'll eventually say them correctly. I know a 7 year old who still says words wrong because when his family said it they always said it the 'cute way' he did (ie 'ponice'= police) Some of my favorite things that Paige says are the mispronounced words. (ie 'moy'=more).

I just found your blog through the website (so excited that you're coming to LA next month- I'm totally going to be at the Fonda show!). Hope you don't mind if I check in to your blog every now and then- My husband's in a band and we're trying to get pregnant this year (actually proving to be rather challenging, when he's out touring and not home- haha!) so I'm really interested in hearing your experiences with having your kids on the road with you...

And now an actual response to your post- my nephew always would say "BlehBlah" instead of "water". He could pronounce Water- We'd say "WAH" and he'd repeat "wah" then "ter" "ter" and then "water" and he'd say "BlehBlah". Every single time. And then one day when he was probably about three, we noticed he was saying the real word for "water" and it broke our hearts. So I say, it is cute and don't worry- she'll probably correct it herself down the road when the time comes.

I know that this i probably not the right forum for this, but I had to try. I didn't know how much you check your regular website email. My husband and I are avid fans of Mates (and your blog). Your music has been part of our lives in a big way over the last several years. We are expecting our first kiddo in June! We were planning on going to the April 5th show in Williamsburg. It's the day after my baby shower and was going to be our last "show date" before the kid. So, i just went to get tickets and it's sold out! I waited too long. I know that I'm going out on a limb here, but I was wondering if there is anything you can do to help us out. Here is my email address if you can get back to me. jmaeallen@hotmail.com

Thanks so much.

i remember driving my neighbor's kindergartner to school with my 3 year old son in the car, my son asked the 5 year old, what's your teacher's name? he replies mister wawwy (real name mr. lally), my son says, oh, mr. wawwy, kindergarten says no, mr. wawwy - and on and on!

Have two sets of supplies (diapers plus bouncy seats or swings) on each level of the house so you dont have to run up and down the stairs. (helped us a lot)

Make sure Dad comes home at a decent hour to keep you sane.

Split up the night time care (one per parent). The one who sleeps the best can go with dad (assuming he goes to work and mom doesnt).
