Baby Candy: Not Actually Edible

Posted by Gwynne Watkins

Here at Babble, we get some truly puzzling promotional items. (For example, a two-foot-fall baby bottle full of green confetti arrived today to herald the new Shrek DVD.) But the one above is especially impressive: a customized onesie, wrapped to look like candy, and arranged on a ceramic plate with a plastic strawberry and a doily. It's been the centerpiece on my desk for weeks. The company behind the package is Baby Candy, who specialize in customized clothes for kids and babies -- and yes, their signature move is to wrap them like candy. I must say, this is rather appropriate for Halloween. (Also, this is cute.) But I'm not likely to use the onesie they sent me, which says "Property of Babble.com." It makes me feel like my baby's about to be repossessed.
