First Look: Joy Spread the Word

Posted by Mir
Joy Spread the Word

Begun in 2005 by Myriam Joseph and Steve Myers, Joy Spread the Word is finally opening its internet doors today. Their mission is simple -- to spread joy. That shouldn't be difficult with their four different shirt designs; choose from joy, courage, compassion or humility. Each is made of a bamboo/cotton/lycra blend, which yields superior breathability (and washability!) due to the high percentage of versatile and eco-friendly bamboo fiber. Best of all? This luxurious, durable blend is both machine washable and dryable.

Currently jerseys are offered in sizes 2 to 4. Your little joy ambassador can start spreading the word for $48 apiece (that includes shipping).

More pictures after the jump.

Apparently they only intend to spread joy to the rich, because after all, who needs *more* reason to be joyful than them?!

Um, I'm the first one to knock overpriced stuff on here, but I don't have a problem with JOY's pricing, and I'll tell you why: First, the shirts are mostly bamboo (more expensive than cotton); second, the cotton that is used is organic (also more expensive); third, the company is committed to donating 10% of their profits to organizations that help children and/or the environment; fourth, everything is made here in the USA rather than outsourced to a foreign sweatshop.

Once you figure in the free shipping on top of all of that, no, it's not cheap, but it is a reasonable value.
