Hand Made: Dead Bug Funeral Kit

Posted by Aaron Burgess

Outside of the obvious -- toss it with yesterday's trash -- what to do with a pet bug when the little critter's time is up? Well, you could send it off properly with this hand-made Dead Bug Funeral Kit ($20), which, without a hint of irony or cynicism, includes a casket, a grave marker, a white clay flower, a burial scroll, and a pouch of grass seed for regenerating the burial spot.

And because someone's going to need to officiate, the kit also comes with a beautifully illustrated, 32-page Buggy Book of Eulogies. I hate beetles like Indiana Jones hates snakes, but doggone it if this didn't make me tear up:

This looks suspiciously like an ikea organization box, but, hey if someone can make a buck off of it ...

This is so sad but as a kid I would have found this totally necessary.  There were many bug and small creature funerals to be had.
