Kids love a tea party. They become oddly entranced in the fantasy of passing pretend scones, cucumber sandwiches, and cupfuls of clotted cream. This slightly archaic rite of passage not only fosters their imaginations but they learn age-old manners, etiquette and customs, albeit a set of formalities that is more in tune with the lifestyles of ladies who lunch, grandparents and our friends across the pond.
Knowing the significance and importance of a child’s first tea set, I spent way more time than I should have picking out my daughter’s introduction to drinking hot beverages with pinky aloft. I now know I settled, miserably. I got her some tin flowered atrocity not knowing that the Syhylling Modern Tea Set was out there and available for purchase for a mere $21.00. Looking at this set, I think they’ll be way more tea parties in my future.
