7 Days of High Chairs: Antilop High Chair from Ikea

Posted by Chris Ford

This week we've shown you some cool high chairs, and we've shown you some pretty crazy looking high chairs too, but my pick is easily the cheapest.

My favorite traditional high chair (that is, a chair with a tray attached) is the Antilop high chair from Ikea. It's functional, modern, and will cost you a whopping $23.99. And that's with the tray.

The Antilop high chair has been working well in my family for years. It's functional, cleans very easily, and is perfectly simple. There is a seat belt for squirmy kids, and unlike a lot of other monstrosities out there, it won't be an eyesore in your kitchen. And it's so cheap, you can be a big spender and do like I did and buy one for Grandma and Grandpa's house too.

Antilop High Chair from Ikea, $18.99 for the chair and $5.00 for the tray.

We have this chair and really like it.  We were "big spenders" and bought an extra one for our son's gorilla stuffed animal.  They sit in matching chairs during meals.  He eats much better with his friend and it didn't break the bank.

We have this chair, too -- it's great and super-easy to clean, but my son likes to indicate "All done" by pulling off the tray (a feat that's a little too easy, if you ask me) and throwing it to the ground. Can't beat the price, though!

I can't say enough good things about this chair. Ours has been in constant service for the last 4 years. Easy to clean, cheap, lightweight and recyclable. We even take it along when we travel. It is also the one thing we always give as a baby gift for new parents.
