No Pandas Were Harmed in the Making of This Bamboo Spork

Posted by Aaron Burgess

Considering that bamboo is the fastest-growing plant on earth, it'd be great to see this kids' spork from Bambu rise up to overtake the petroleum-based contraptions we're used to getting from takeout joints. Handmade from 100% organically grown moso (among the bamboo species not munched on by pandas), Bambu's spork is free of bleaches or dyes and is generally one of the safer contraptions your toddler can stick in his or her mouth, relatively speaking.

You've got to admire Bambu's transparency, too: Not only does the company spend more paragraph space describing its sustainable philosophy and fair-labor committment than it does detailing its products, but it's also not above sharing the occasional bad review, such as this hands-on test of the spork by a bunch of brutally honest middle-schoolers. Me, I'd still buy one.
