We may be at the tail end of cold and flu season, but with a newborn it’s always helpful to have a thermometer on hand. I know most pediatricians recommend taking the dreaded rectal temperature, but here’s an alternative if you have a “pacifier baby.”
Though there were some mixed reviews on Amazon about Summer’s Infant Pacifier Thermometer, for $7.99 it’s probably worth a try. For babies used to sucking on a pacifier it seems to work well. When the reading is done it beeps and if a fever is present the screen will glow red. It’s also a good option if you need to take a sleeping baby’s temperature.
