I love the idea of wall decals made from fabric or wallpaper. The only problem is the price tag. It would be nice to be one of those people who can make things instead of buying them. I'm not sure I am one of those people but thanks to Apartment Therapy I might give it a whirl.
Check out the instructions on how to do-it-yourself at Apartment Therapy’s "ohdeedoh". It doesn't sound too difficult for those of us who aren’t crafty, like myself. (The photo below is the example from ohdeedoh.)
Another option would be to save yourself the trouble and buy the decal. I was obsessed with the wallpaper decals from Romp Brooklyn
(photo above) when my daughter was born but never took the plunge. (I wonder if you
could make similar decals with fabric using the instructions from ohdeedoh? For cool, retro fabric try Retro Depot.) Romp Brooklyn's decals come in an assortment of retro wallpaper and animal silhouettes. I'm sure I'm not crafty enough to do them justice, but thank you ohdeedoh for the instructions!
