Babble Review: Kicky Pants

Posted by Erin Behan

Contrary to its name, Kicky Pants is not just about pants. No, the multi-item line (pants, dresses, onesies, tops) is about providing incredibly silky baby and toddler clothing, while also being eco-friendly. Kicky Pants clothing is 95% bamboo and 5% Lycra. Bamboo, of course, is a quickly renewable resource that doesn't require any pesticides or herbicides to grow. It is also--for those who have never touched it--superbly soft when spun into fabric. The Kicky Pants fabric itself is very thin, making it feel more like a second skin than an extra bit of clothing. It's hard to imagine baby skin getting a softer cuddle from a fabric. My only hesitation is the washing instructions, which recommend hand washing or washing on the gentle cycle, then laying flat to dry or tumble dry low. You can buy Kicky Pants at Little Speckled Frog ($18 for a ruffled onesie, $30 for the dress) and check out the complete line, including where to buy retail, at Kicky Pants

We are also huge fans of Kicky Pants and sell it on our online store WhatEveryBabyNeeds.com ...before we did though, we also had the same reservations about the washing instructions. Before selling the brand, we 'field' tested the items with a number of moms (including me) by having everyone wash and dry them with everything else: regular wash and dryer with the rest of the baby clothes. After the results were in and we felt really comfortable that these items stand up to normal wear, tear, wash and dry!
