Dimples Kid Spa – Not As Ridiculous As You Suspect

I will not disguise my initial contempt when I walked past the newly-opened Dimples Kid Spa on Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights. Do kids really need spas? More specifically, do the well-off, well-coiffed kids of Brooklyn Heights really need a spa? But then I took a look at their service menu and admitted to myself that I kind of wish I was a kid and could book myself an appointment. The salon offers French Braids for $5. Whole-head braiding for $45. Temporary tattoos and chocolate facials. Overall the concept seems like a really cute and somewhat affordable one for special treats to reward your child and a much more reasonable solution for destination birthday parties than manicure salons that charge $45 - $60 for a child’s service. Dimples clearly states that their manicures & pedicures are purely for decoration only, they’re not taking any scissors to tiny fingernails. If you’re in Brooklyn and curious – check it out!

Dimples Kid Spa has their menu online.
