My preschooler LOVES electronics. After breaking two television remotes, one digital camera and one Blackberry, we decided he needed his very own gadgets. For Christmas he got the Fisher Price Kid-Tough Digital Camera and it's working like a charm. It survives serious physical abuse and can even withstand a dunk in the toilet because it's waterproof. (Luckily, we haven't done that test yet!)  It has two-eye viewing, easy-to-use buttons and a built-in flash. It comes with a USB cable so you can download all of the fun pics - it store up to 500 photos! Purple or blue. $65 at BabyEarth.

My daughter got the same camera for Christmas (the pink version) and I have to say we had the exact opposite experience with it. The shutter button was way too hard for her to push in (especially compared to the version that came out the year before that her sister got for Christmas) and then after two days the whole thing stopped working. Now I have to get it replaced, but I don't want to get the same camera for her. Ugh.

Our 2 year old received this camera for Christmas. He figured out how to work it pretty quickly and can hold it easily. The one thing I would like to point out about this camera is that the quality of the images that it takes is TERRIBLE! They have a ton of 'noise' in them and are usually really washed out thanks to the really bright flash. (to be fair, we haven't taken any photos outside so it may be better out there.) I just cant get over how in this day and age a digital camera can take such bad quality images even if it is a kids camera.

Ours worked for one day, but now it will turn on, make the little turning on noise, and then go dead. I've tried putting new batteries in, but it still does the same thing. I don't mind the bad photo quality, because my four year old doesn't really care, but nicer would be better obviously, and I don't see any reason why they couldn't manage that while still preserving the price point. Thankfully we got ours on amazon for $30something.

They're cool but the picture quality could be a little better, they look like they're about .5 mp

picture quality sucks, but we've never downloaded a single shot. My 3 year old loves this thing and he hasn't broken it yet. He can break ANYTHING, so this is impressive.
