Organize Books So Kids Can See 'Em

Posted by Cathy Hale

We have stacks and stacks of kid's books, so finding the right one means stacks turn into messy piles. It never fails - the book we're looking for is always on the bottom. Here's a great way to store and display books and it's a bit more unique than a bookcase. It's the Catalina Magazine Rack from Pottery Barn Kids.

It would be great for a nursery, child's room or playroom. It comes in white and espresso. I'm loving this idea, especially since my youngest tears paperback books apart! This is a perfect way to keep them visible to big kids, yet out of the reach of curious little page rippers. $119 at PBK

I agree.  Vertical stacks of books aren't a good idea.

I love this idea.  Books on display rather than hidden away!  Yes, that is Poetry.  :)

I also turn favorite books face out on my own book shelves at times.  I just like the way they look sometimes.

Standard shelves do work fine, but I also like kids books (durable ones) in cubes (or stackable bins, even better) with the spines facing up.  That way they are stored in an organized way, easy to find and already on ground level for little ones to pick through and choose themselves.
