A DIY Library

Posted by Heather Kuldell

While I’m sure computers and bar codes make tracking books much easier for libraries, I miss the old-school card catalogs, the tiny drawers stuffed full of yellowed, hand-typed cards. Anyone else with similar fond memories may like the Personal Library Kit ($20). The kit includes library tech of yore: adhesive pockets to stick into books, insert cards for checking in and out, plus a date stamp, pad and pencil. It could be used for real book borrowing, but could easily stock any kids’ imaginary library once you swap the ink pad for one that's washable.
