Offering 387 different experiment in 32 different categories, Thames & Cosmos' Chem C3000 might be the most formidable-looking chemistry set for kids (ages 12 and up, that is) I've ever seen. It sure beats the cheapo lab-in-a-box I got when I was a kid -- although there's something to be said for making a discovery (in my case, that Star Wars figures are no match for alcohol-burning lamps) with limited tools.
