For spring, J. Crew is outfitting kids for a day at the regatta (embroidered anchors, nautical stripes, etc.). Buried amidst rehashed madras shorts and preppy cardigans is this gem of a skirt. The colors are rich and the pleated crinkle cotton makes it look like a shrunken designer piece (petit Prada, perhaps). The pattern is also featured on a sleeveless crewneck shift dress. For those on the smaller side who wouldn't dare waste such style (or price) on a kid, the size range goes up to XXL and the waistband is half elastic. So, start sucking in, or find a creative tailor.
