• Blue Bambu Offers Bubblegum Buddy Babies for Cannibalizing

  "Thanks for coming to Susie's baby shower, everyone! Please take a baby on your way out. Oh, silly, not a real baby -- one of these bubblegum buddy babies from Blue Bambu! See? It's a giant gumball painstakingly turned into a little baby by hand with royal icing for $3.25 apiece. Isn't that adorable? I mean, sure, royal icing tastes terrible and no one over the age of 8 wants to eat a giant gumball, and actually now that I think about it, popping a baby into your mouth is sort of odd, and yes, you could just keep it as a keepsake, sure, except it's food, so the bugs...? • Plant a Memory, Plant Your Shower Favors

  I am rarely a fan of favors of any kind, because who needs more little useless pieces of crap cluttering up the house? Not me. But I do like the idea of favors ("we like you and we're glad you came; have a little present!"), and now I've found an actual favor I think is awesome. These little plantable duckies are my favorite of the offerings at Plant a Memory, but they have plenty of styles from which to choose; each comes with your customizable message, a "Love is Blooming" or "Baby is Blooming" sticker, and instructions on how to take it home and plant it. They're about $2 each (less if you buy larger quantities), and who doesn't like flowers?
