Tweens, Teens and Parents are all abuzz over these new cell phones made especially for kids. With no contracts, kajeet allows parents to control the pay-as-you-go phones. Everything can be tracked
by parents, including call logs, account balance, and which features
are being used. Calls to 900 numbers are blocked. It's easy to set parameters for your kids, including when the phone can and can't be used (presumably study periods and after bedtime). If only there were a kajeet solution for meals, bedtimes and teen *gag* romance.
Kajeet took all this parental goodness and paired it with features the kids love, like unique ringtones, wallpapers and cameras. If getting a cell phone for your kid(s) has been a hot button in your house, this should be on top of your "pros" column. Cons? 35 cents a day service fee on top of the call plans adds over $10/month, and no free nights and weekends - everything falls under the same plan. If your kids are really riding you for a phone though, I'm sure you can come up with $10 month worth of child labour.
