That said, I'm loving the big storage bins, the sliding doors, and the built-in chalkboard that lets you customize the day's specials, and if you can't spring for the extras, there's no reason you couldn't put together an equally cool store with some cheapo plastic food you scored at a garage sale. • DwellStudio's got (Magnetic) Animal Attraction

  This set of three magnetic animals appeals to me aesthetically much moreso than the retina-searing PlajaPets, though they're a similar concept. Thankfully, Dwell does it up right with modern fabrics and a just two pieces per animal (there's a hippo, an elephant, and a rhino which looks suspiciously pig-like). Safe for even the littlest ones, but you'll probably find yourself playing with them, too. $46 at Land of Nod.   The Good Habits Chore Chart comes with 12 pre-printed stickers and 12 blank ones for you to customize. A thick laminate board with wooden knobs to twist after the chore is done, ostensibly to give positive reinforcement.  In the case of my children I'd need things like, "You call that clean?"  or "I don't think so!"  but the beauty of this chart is that it is customizable and I could write that on the stickers if I desired.
