• Big Deal: Hot Jeans, Half Price

  It’s amazing, but somehow it was easier to find great jeans when I was pregnant. One day on a desperate shopping spree to buy some clothes that fit my big belly I stumbled upon Mimi Maternity. Low and behold I had found the elusive perfect pair of jeans. (I would have never guessed that my all-time favorite pair of jeans would be of the maternity variety).  I did pay about $70 for them, but it was well worth it. Since I love Mimi’s jeans so much I had to share that they’re having a huge sale and almost all the jeans are half price! Because it's a pretty safe bet that no mater how uncomfortable and swollen you get, your shoulders will still look good.   When I posted about a bad t-shirt for expectant fathers, I really had no idea it could have been so much worse. This one, for example, is idiotic to the power of stupid. I'm sorry, but bragging about your swimmers, even as a joke, is just lame. Nobody wants to think about your sperm. I don't even want to think about Johnny Depp's sperm. And far be it for me to become the sensitivity police, but it's even a little rude to the infertile guys. This shirt is 30 seconds away from being worn ironically by a hipster kid. • Maternity Loves the Nightlife

  If I had been the kind of pregnant woman who looked hot and svelte (instead of like someone had hit me with the bloat bat) and I had been the kind of pregnant woman who had a fabulous, Studio 54 event to go to, and I had been the kind of pregnant woman who didn't mind spending $295 on a gold dress I'd probably only wear once, tops, then I would have gone for this from Pea in the Pod. But I wasn't, so I wouldn't. It sure is pretty though. It would have made my stomach look like a disco ball. Wouldn't it just cheer you right up to wear a t-shirt bearing a slogan where you vow to be just as pretty, just as vapid, just as consumeristic after baby arrives as you used to be before you were pregnant?   Get yourself to the Isabella Oliver end-of-line sale, because you've gotta love this great maternity wear that steers clear of muumuu. Hey, did I mention there's a SALE? My personal favorites are the hipster brief set (was $40, now $16 for two) for great undies that don't have to be hoisted over the belly; and this peasant dress (was $95, now $38) which I would wear even un-preggers with jeans or tights, it's so cute.
