I saw it for the first time last summer at the big Baby Expo in Las Vegas. At first sight, I asked, "what is that thing?" It just looked so different from all of the other nursery items. The extremelly nice Sorelle rep explained it was the Aqua Changing Table, a combination diaper station and bathing area. It's safe and convenient, but the best part is little accidents can be cleaned up quickly. It's probably much more sturdy than it looks, weighing in at 50 pounds. Check it out at BabyEarth - retails for $230.

Down with Disposable Wipes

We’ve covered many kinds of cloth diapers here at Droolicious, but have you seen these cloth wipes?

I’ll be totally honest, I have not embraced cloth diapering and don’t know if I could get over putting poopy wipes into my washing machine, but nonetheless, thought I’d share these from Bummas. Use them instead of wet wipes, as a pee pee tepee for boys, or simply as a washcloth. They come in sets of ten for $16.99, with sassy names like, for the boys, for the girls, the calm ones and the wild ones (shown here).

Anybody here use cloth wipes. It's the bath toy scoop that doubles as a holder for all the toys. One of the many cool things they've announced at ABC is the Bug Pod. It works the same as the Frog Pod, except that it takes up less wall space and has a higher capacity scoop. And of course it's shaped like a ladybug. In the picture they've decorated the side of the wall of their booth with them, but in your home they'll probably look best stuck to the wall in the bathroom.

Bug Pod, available in stores soon for around $29.00 (though they're $34.99 on the web site).
Maybe you're of the mind that once baby's been ejected into this cold, cruel world, there's no need to keep him or her coddled in a womb-like state anymore. For the rest of us, the Prince Lionheart WashPOD at least helps to make bathtime a little closer to the cozy confines of Mama's belly.

The WashPOD is designed to slide babies up to 22 pounds into the fetal position, and despite looking a wee bit like a wastebasket from Target, it comes physician- and midwide-recommended as a boon for bathing. Just add warm water, and let the cooing ensue.

(Or at least any parent who's never heard of tear-free shampoo or used a downturned palm to redirect rinse water.) Just grip the handle, slide the rim onto your child's scalp, and rinse, rinse, rinse that mortal terror away.

Admittedly, I've not actually tested a Lil Rinser (my kids are mostly of the "No thanks, Dad, we'll wash our own damned hair" variety), but at least one lab has, and it's thumbs up all around. Oh, wait -- that was a test for chemical compounds.
