Do we love William Rast jeans? Yes, we do! Should expecting moms have to pay $265 for a pair of designer maternity jeans? No way! No matter how skinny you stay or how plump you become, your maternity jeans will not fit long enough to be a worthy investment. When it comes to pricey denim, shouldn't we get some type of perk for gaining the weight, carrying the baby and delivering the baby? For $265 they should throw in a free pair of normal William Rast jeans ($242) to give us something to look forward to after the pregnancy! Aside from the baby, of course. ;-)

Spit Up: Organic Baby Jeans

Before I’m lynched for the spit up distinction for organic baby clothes, first let me say that I’m a big advocate for natural products. But what I don’t condone is overpriced clothes that are destined to be pooped in and spit up on.

That’s why these lackluster organic denim jeans that ring in at $118, have landed on my s*%! list. They may be softer than regular jeans but really, that price is ridiculous for a pair of jeans for a one year old. It also perpetuates the idea to the everyday person that organic products are always way more expensive.

Star Kid: Hugh Jackman's Daughter Has a True Religion

She’s out of her Snow White gown and guess what? An alternative to the "pregnancy band" that's somewhat of a staple for maternity jeans, the B-Buckle fits into the nearest belt loops on your favorite denim and snaps into place. Rumor has it these run a little on the small side so it might not be a solution for your entire nine months, especially if your favorite jeans have belt loops that are a little far from the fly. But if you're the kind of gal who's still dying to wear tight low rider jeans at nine months pregnant, you might be better off investing $200 in a pair of maternity jeans by Chip & Pepper or Paige Denim anyway.

Available at Chulamama for $21.98 in a variety of sizes.

Big Deal: Little Levi's Vintage Core Skirt

Your toddler will be looking cool and retro in this cut-off denim skirt from Levi's (love the little "Mother" tattoo on the edge, there), and you'll know you were a savvy shopper -- although the piece was originally $110 (for people who like to overspend on their frayed denim), it's currently marked down to $29.98, and you can apply coupon code FINAL20 to take another 20% off of that.

"Frenchy" Denim Pants That Channel Audrey H.

Whether or not you're aware, they make "skinny jeans" for toddlers. Even more scoff-worthy is the fact that my daughter has a pair (I didn't buy them, though, I swear). They're actually not too restrictive and allow her to get up to her shennanigans almost as well as any other pair of jeans she has. But enough of my rationalizations. These "Frenchy" straight-leg denim pants by LucysPlace look like a much safer bet for parents who aren't such slaves to fashion. With their striped cuffs and trim, they're made of European denim with Lycra blended in for stretch. The elastic waist — instead of a zipper or buttons — and lack of restrictive seams seal the deal on comfort. A cool little beatnik look for boys or girls.

$22, LucysPlace.

Undiaperbag: Zo Bebe Bohemian Chic Denim

Maybe I'm just old and unhip (don't answer that), but this so-called Bohemian Chic denim diaper bag by Zo Bebe (available at Swaddle & Coddle) is completely lost on me.
