Perhaps it’s hyper-consciousness of the changing bod but striving to feel sexy while comfortable during these pre- and post-partum body changes has become an obsession here on Drool. While not a maternity outfit, per se, Buxom Inc. lounge wear is designed for the well-endowed among us. Which are, um, most women who are in the family way. I checked out the Faux-Wrap Cami and lounge pants (see below - ribbon drawstring waist band to grow with you!) and stretched out while admiring those round parts.

Unlike some sexy undies that require constant crack removal, the pants in this set are so soft and lightweight it’s almost like wearing nothing at all. One thing about being pregnant, everyone knows you put out. How did you get that way? Well, odds are there was some romance, wooing and carnal coupling involved and next thing you know, you’re lugging a kicking, growing bowling ball sized baby in your belly. Its’ stretchy fabric will grow with you but will still keep the illusion of some sense of slimness. $54.95

Sexy Mesh Flyaway Maternity Babydoll Set
In this number, red definitely means go. For some reason, this Sexy Mesh Flyaway Maternity Babydoll Set says “I want some pirate booty” to me. If you’re one for the whole role playing thing, then you can pull off wench with no problem in this, and it will surely shiver his timbers. (I know, corny, I just couldn’t help myself!) on sale for $34.00

Ke’Koqueta
Perfect for that beachy babymoon. I didn’t get a babymoon myself but this one is making me regret not jetting off to Cabo for some sun, sand and moonlight walks before the two of us became three. This silk maternity chemise from the company Ke’Koqueta is comprised of a deep aqua silk with little floral details around the bustline. It comes with a matching thong, I’m not a thong girl myself so I’d skip that part but the rest is pretty dreamy.

Belabumbum Chemise
You know what can be ultra sexy? Simplicity. Something that has an easy elegance, a bit of class, something that isn’t trying too hard but simply states “yeah…I’m pretty” without broadcasting it thru a bullhorn. And this number isn’t just pretty on the outside, it’s made of organic bamboo. French Lace
There’s something about a tastefull lace that just says “hey baby, let’s get busy”. Plus if you’re going to invest in some French lace, this plum-apricot Bralet and Tanga set will transition from maternity to newborn nursing easily. The bra has “simple, pull over nursing access”, (or perhaps some partner access). And the underwear fits nicey under your growing belly. It’s simple with out being too over the top in lacy land. Hot Milk
Black, hints of lace, silky softness? I think someone’s going to get lucky with this Slip Into Seduction number from the aptly named maternity lingerie company Hot Milk from New Zealand. This is a great transition piece since it also has nursing clasps for those nighttime nips. $89.95 AUD (from New Zealand)

Nougatine Bra and Panty Set
Coming from across the pond from London is the Amoralia collection. The Nougatine set gives a wee bit of retro Hollywood glamour to your nighttime trysts. The bra is available in maternity or nursing and the undies you can get as a demi-thong, lace brief or French Knicker with bow. Stylish, sexy and close up worthy. Jola Babydoll

Sexiest Maternity Bra? Part 3!

Okay, I think I may be a wee bit obsessed with my quest for the winner of the Droolicious “Sexiest Maternity Bra” contest. Originally blogger Erin submitted her pick of the retro styled Cupid Bra by Agent Provocateur as the world’s Sexiest Maternity Bra and she boldly challenged anyone to find a sexier one. I countered her selection with the Elle Nursing Bra by Passion Spice. The posts proved to be pretty popular, who doesn’t love some sexy underwear right? A bunch of comments were left about what our readers REALLY want out of a maternity bra, sexy or otherwise. Using this feedback, I searched out a maternity bra that fit their criteria but also possessed the all important sexiness we lust for. So, for part three of the Sexiest Maternity Bra I submit…

The Elle MacPherson La Mere Materntiy Nursing Bra!

Here are some of the comments left and why this one stands up to their feedback:

Elvira’s concern with my last pick was that it was synthetic – this one has soft cotton-lined cups which will be kind to those nipples.
Nicole worried that the “underwire can cause a plugged milk duct” – no worries here, this one has structure but does not include any hard wiring.
Mcglory13 noticed that the last one only went up to 34D. The La Mere goes up to 34DD/E and the largest size available is 38DD.
CDCC was concerned about the materials and that it may be cheaply made (the cost of the last one was a mere $29). The La Mere is priced at $62, so I can only assume (and hope) that it is very well constructed and will last throughout your whole nursing tenure.

I can’t even begin to tell you how distressing this whole lingerie for kid’s concept is to me. Because it sexualizes a toddler? Yes. Because it makes tiny girls conscious of dressing up their genitalia? Yes. But most of all I’m freaking because I was drawn to this booth because of the company name. It’s my daughter’s name. And they’re peddling smut. Dear god, what’s next?
