This thing's great! I keep it on my Baby Jogger with the speakers mounted in the moddle of the handle bar and it points the music at me instead of my kids and I can still hear my kids. Definitely safer than earbuds.

You can also ship your own box ahead. We do this when visiting our kentucky relatives, as my son has celiac, and there's no whole foods for hours where they live. Or, my fave, just hit the nearest CVS when you get where you're going.

I think there is too much focus on sunscreens and CNN today had a report warning that things are not always what they seem. We have been warning people for ages that sunscreens can give you a false sense of security. Without going into huge detail here the problem briefly is that many sunscreens allow you to stay in the sun for longer (as they block the UVB that gives you that burning feeling) while letting through more UVA (the dangerous cancer causing wavelength). Best protection is clothing, hats, protection swimwear (sunsuits) and staying out of the sun, ESPECIALLY for kids who are supersensitive to the sun.

Any idea that protects kids from the damaging radiation from the sun deserve mention. The best protection is to get out of the sun or cover up. The problem with "cover up" is everyone thinks sunscreen lotions work.

Well they do, IF....

IF you apply plenty of them, but that will make you look pasty-white and also the high cost of these lotions means people NEVER put on enough

IF you dont get in the water where it washes off...

AND IF you use a sunscreen that contains the correct chemicals to block BOTH UVA and UVB.

The easy way to remember is UVB is what burns you, B for BURN! UVB is absorbed in the upper layers of your skin and is not the worst kind of UV.

UVA is the dangerous one....think A for ATTACK. UVA is a longer wavelength which means that it penetrates deeper into the skin, getting at the lower cell layers of the epidermis (the living part of the skin) and this one causes CANCER.

Right, here is the BIG danger. You put on a sunscreen (not enough!) that allows you to stay in the sun for longer (it stops that burning feeling) while what you now get is a MUCH higher dose of UVA than you would have if you had nothing on.....thats it a FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY!

The best thing for kids is a hat, a sunsuit or rash top, and if possible a suntent like this one.

In case you are asking, do I sell suntents, no we do not. We do however sell sun protection and swimming aids.....at least you know I am biased :-), but ask any un-biased expert, the above is fact!

Every good mother knows that no matter how hard you try and make little adults out of your children, they still are tiny beings trying to get to know the world around them. And no matter how many times a parent tries to "correct" certain words, those little guys don't always get them right. For each word they used to mispronounce, there comes a day when those words come out perfectly. Before you know what happened, your cute little butter ball grows up, becomes a teenager, wants to borrow the car and head off with his friends. I think baby talk is cute when you're talking to a baby/toddler. But when an adult does it in conversation with other adults, it's hyper-obnoxious. My mother-in-law sometimes talks like that to my 30-year-old husband. Then again, he's her baby...

I used to feel exactly the same way about baby talk...until I had my son. It is absolutely the cutest thing when he runs up and says "I ungry! A nack!" I will be just a little sad when he masters the 'sn' blend. ;)

I think the shirts are irritating.

Having said that I think baby talk is normal and necessary. I see it as a bridge for babies to learn language and I think we have evolved to use it because it is effective. There's a reason why people just break into baby talk when speaking to a baby - they're hard-wired to do so.

We just got our shipment of these things and we love them... just be sure to fold in the fabric around the legs (it leaves a bit of a gap) to prevent blow outs... So far so good... They're not as bulky around the legs as the pre-folds and the contoured shape means you can wrap the baby without having to pull the snappi so tight to hold the diaper on.

Funny, I actually own the nurseryworks crib and would say the exact opposite. The thing is built like a tank... I actually feel that it's the one piece of heirloom nursery furniture I own and am so happy that I went ahead and spent the money on it.

I used to sell this line in my baby store, but I have a lot of problems with Nurseryworks furniture holding up. I agree, their furniture looks great- but I don' think it is high quality.
