Angie and Brad Spend Their Cash for the Common Good and on Uncommon Goods

Posted by sweatpantsmom

Word is that Zahara Jolie-Pitt has got herself a $17,000 diamond-encrusted pacifier.  How did this happen? Were they out of Barbie's Malibu Mansion at Target so they bought this instead?  To put it in perspective, that amount of cash could buy 283 strollers for my new favorite person, Johnny Depp.  Of course, two-year old Zahara is walking around in $120 jeans (that's worth three pairs of my Gap denims) so I guess a plain old plastic paci would be just so tacky.

You know what I think? I think that there was some sort of mistake, that Angie sent Brad out on a weekend errand with a big grip of cash and told him to "Go adopt a baby" and somehow he mistakenly heard, "Go buy a binky that costs as much as a car."

Can you tell I'm stretching here? I want to give Angie and Brad the benefit of the doubt.  Hopefully I'll be rewarded handsomely for my compassion. I could really use a $20,000 ruby-encrusted toothbrush.

That is ridiculous, but goddamn if Shiloh isn't the cutest little baby.

The diamond pacifier is old news -- I remember that came out right when Shiloh was born.  And it was nothing but a "gift" or promotional item that the manufacturer had given them for its own publicity sake.  You think a diamond-encrusted pacifier has certified conflict free diamonds on it?  You think Ang & Brad would use it if it didn't?

Now, $120 jeans?  That I believe.

Here's a link explaining that the diamond pacifier was a gift from itsmybinky.com, when the child was born a year ago:

So, shockingly, Star Magazine isn't doing anything but recycling year-old news, and getting it wrong in the process.  Your compassion is rewarded.
