Sting Enjoys Poetry, Walks in the Woods and Nepotism

Posted by Whit Honea

sorry, there's no candy, ladies

Sting's son, Joe Sumner, is quite a bit older than most of the celebrity kids we feature here.  Sting, however, is about the median age for the fathers.  Go figure.

Joe has himself a rock and roll band, Fiction Plan, and guess who they are touring with this summer.  Give up?  How about The Police?  That's a nice gig if you can get it.

At least he admits it, “We earned it, man. We worked from the street,” he joked. “No, my dad called me up and gave me the gig. I almost said no because I feel like it’s a big sellout in a lot of ways. I figured if I don’t do it, I’ll just be pissed for a long time.”

I saw Fiction Plane open for The Police at Dodger Stadium.  Actually, they opened for the openers, The Foo Fighters.  That, my friends, was a kick ass show.

My dad is a politician.  The only gig he can get me is passing out campaign pins.  That blows.

What are you saying about young parents in this post? That they are not responsible?

Some people might take exception.
