Rupert Everett is a Tightass, but Not in a Good Way

Posted by Whit Honea

My best friend's godfather.

Rupert Everett is godfather to 10 children.  However, he doesn't think that he would make a very good father and has no dreams of adopting.

The criteria that he bases his theory on is his disregard for being "emotionally tricked into spending so much money," i.e., Christmas and birthdays.  I suppose that's just as good of a reason as any.  Why adopt a kid from some cushy orphanage only to deny him Christmas gifts?  I'm sure the kid's making out like a bandit already.

I do think that it's refreshing that a gay actor can be featured and discussed within the confines of parenting without it being a matter of controversy as it was in our society until just recently.  Hell, I'm sure it's still an issue in many areas.

As a matter of fact, I wouldn't have even brought up the fact that Everett is gay at all, except I wanted to make sure everyone got my tightass joke.  That shit is funny.

I suppose he could always have made the poor little ones gifts , knit a bunny etc so your kid can die of embarrasment at Christmas. Pretend you are a Muslim. ?..no they get gifts at Eid ...hummmm? I think not adopting is an act of mercy .I hope his parents don't sit by the mail box on certain days . If he got lucky attending all these fashion events some designer might throw a freebie at him.I hope he's been cycling to them all to cut down that carbon print or else he's used up his for the year.
