Matt Leinart is a pretty-boy NFL quarterback that just had a baby, Cole, with a girl he's no longer with. Is this the latest trend in football? My money is on Roethlisberger next.
It would be easy to sit here and draw comparisons between Matt Leinart and Tom Brady (who is rumored to now be in L.A. for the birth of his baby), but I can't. I don't know what Tom is going to do, but I do know what Matt is doing. He's playing the game.
This post was going to be another in a long line of Brady bashing/Leinart praising articles. You see, Leinart is being a super dad. He talks endlessly in the media about enjoying fatherhood and the little things, and the changing of diapers. That's what I was going to say.
Then I saw this article with Brynn Cameron, Matt's baby's momma. She seems to have a different take on the parenting styles of one Matt Leinart.
It's kind of hard for me as the mom -- I'm
probably with Cole 99.9% of the time -- to open a magazine or read a
newspaper article with Matt saying 'Oh, I love being a dad. I love
changing diapers. I love doing this.' I'm like 'Wait, what?' I don't
know how to word how he is about this, but it's been hard when I'm
doing all the work, but he gets all the credit for it.
I don't want to sit here and bad mouth his lifestyle, but it is
hard because we are different people. He likes that Hollywood stuff
and I don't like that and raising a kid together, you have to work
together as parents, but we're so different.
It's hard, but I have to raise Cole to be a strong, secure kid
so he knows right and wrong, what's good and bad and what really
matters in life, which isn't what's going on in Hollywood or who's
dating who. That's not what it's all about, and I think he'll know
that being raised by me.
That sounds like a different take, doesn't it?
What's up with quarterbacks theses days? I change my mind on Roethlisberger. I hope this trend has run, or in this case, passed, it's course.
