Lance Briggs Sued By His Baby's Mama, Just in Case

Posted by Whit Honea

here, take my money

Chicago Bear and ex-Arizona Wildcat Lance Briggs has a 3-week-old baby.

The baby is fine.  Lance Briggs is doing daddy stuff.  All is well.  Not on paper.

Brittini Tribbett wants to make sure her baby continues to be cared for.  According to her lawyer, "we've got to formalize the obligation of support and right of visitation. Lance has been exemplary both as a parent and as a provider thus far. There's no animosity here, but legal necessities are not always niceties."

I call bullshit.  If Lance is being exemplary then why sue him?  There are other paper trails to hike down.

Something tells me that Ms. Tribbett has her eyes on a bit more than a little help with formula and diapers.  It looks like the baby's first stroller may be a Lamborghini.  We see it all the time.  Get pregnant, make money.  It's like having the best paying job in the world for 9-months.

Note to self: Have baby with professional athlete.

Her lawyer is right.  Just because it's uncomfortable doesn't mean they shouldn't be proactive about having those kinds of arrangements in place, especially since they aren't married and don't have the protection of those legal formalities.  And are you really suggesting that they wait until their relationship has gone south to discuss these things??

It's conceivable that she is after his money, but why would you come down so hard on her for wanting to make sure his responsibilities are formalized, while they are still amicable?

Hmm,

My first thought is- How many proffesional athletes stay with their baby mama/wife/girlfriend forever?  How many end because of groupies?  So-

Is she just wary of future groupies?

Is she a former groupie who knows the score?

Or is she a former groupie looking for the big score $$$ ?

I know Brittini personally. She comes from money and she isn't trying to get him for all he's worth....she just wants nariana to be protected...for life.
