Olympic track medalist Marion Jones, who won five medals at the 2000 Olympics, is expected to plead guilty to steroid use in a New York court today. Jones, who has a three-year old son and is rumored to be pregnant, is expected to be stripped of her medals in light of her admission. Too bad about the hardware, but even sadder is the loss of Jones' image as the most celebrated athlete of the Sydney games and as a positive role model for female athletes.
Still, it's too bad Marion won't have those medals to pass on to her kids. Looks like they'll have to settle for some mismatched silverware and dad's old rocking chair like the rest of us.
