Suri Cruise Does Not Have Typical Parents

Posted by Karen

Suri Cruise, cute as a button, is the cover girl for this week's US Weekly.  Inside, the secrets of Scientology parenting are revealed:

- Suri was never fed breastmilk or formula, she was given a mixture of barley water, corn syrup and milk, as advocated by L. Ron Hubbard.

- Suri is too young to take classes at the Scientology Center, but is constantly surrounded by believers, including nannies.  “Tom doesn’t like associating with people who aren’t Scientologists,” says an insider.

- Instead of scolding or time outs, Suri is told that negative behaviour is the "wrong action."

- Tom and Katie are very lenient and don't impose many rules on Suri.  They try to please her.

The article closes calling Tom and Katie "typical parents."  Typical for what?  Living under rainbows and eating sunshine sandwiches?

Truthfully, I think Suri is very well cared for and it's no secret that her parents love her very much, and who are we to judge about the differences in parenting here?  The only thing I find issue with is the diet as a baby.   Yikes.  Breast is best, Katie.

Wasn't Katie photographed with a "wardrobe malfunction" with her nursing bra showing?  Somehow I seriously doubt that Suri was fed corn syrup.  I guess L. Ron Hubbard never heard of botulism.

Yeah, L Ron's wife had problems bfing so he drew the (genius) assumption that bfing is not natural or even bad.  Scientology has drawn a lot of criticism for that.  I don't know how many of their sheeples, I mean, followers actually subscribe to that view.  To me, it borders on abuse.  I would think that Suri wouldn't look so good if she were fed like that.

Posted by BadKitty Helena Bonham Carter , Gemini, is one interesting lady. You get the feeling from her interviews that she's tried pretty much everything, and if you can think of something she hasn't tried, then she'll try that. You don't

In the Harper's Bazaar article, Katie said:

"I've really enjoyed this time that I have taken to be with Suri as well as the challenges of the first couple of months: feeding and pumping, learning to decipher what each cry means-is she hungry? Is she tired? Does she need a fresh diaper? And figuring out how to really help her."

Clearly, Suri was fed breastmilk.

If she had been fed that goop she would be dead now from malnutrition or botulism.  I do not think their deal was to starve his "child" to death to honor a dead science fiction writer.  He may be a scientologist but she was raised catholic and will always be one no matter what she tells the press.  She is just a beard for him just like Lisa Marie was for Jacko.

I don't know.  I think that since Katie was not Scientologist in the beginning, she may have more sense that it looks like.  She must have breastfed.  Why not, they don't sleep in the same bedroom because of Sc rules about sex, why not breastfeed and enjoy the private time with the baby.  She sure is a cutie.

My mom was fed corn syrup and carnation evaporated milk in her bottle. It was a very common thing to feed your babies in the 50's. That said, I think it is a crazy diet for a baby.
