Last night, November 12th, a paparazzo, known as a "spotter", was seriously injured while he was chasing Britney Spears on his motorbike. He was struck by another vehicle.
An X17 photographer was also pursuing Spears in a Range Rover SUV and he made an illegal right turn, striking the paparazzo on the motorbike. Britney was leaving the Four Seasons Hotel, in Beverly HIlls, when the incident occurred.
The "spotter", who apparently just started the job, is receiving medical care at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre and has suffered broken legs, broken arms and a broken back. Yikes. Brit sure isn't worth all that trouble!
Sergeant Jay Kim of the Beverly Hills police department said, "The crash occurred about 5pm on Santa Monica Boulevard near Elm Drive when a paparazzo following the pop star collided with another paparazzo on a motorcycle about a mile from the Four Seasons Hotel. Britney Spears was not injured and had no direct involvement in the crash. No arrests were made and no citations were issued in connection with the wreck, which appeared to be just an accident. Alcohol did not appear to play a part in the crash. The injured motorcyclist was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre with abrasions to the arms and legs. His condition was not immediately known."
An eyewitness on the scene said, "The spotter was hit by a silver Range Rover and was literally smashed under its wheels. His body went into seizure and then it just stopped moving."
Okay listen, I'm not a fan of Britney's, except, you know, to make fun of her and such, but really, chasing someone (who by the way, isn't all that special) to the point of causing accidents, is ridiculous. I'm not a fan of the paparazzi either and they really need to be aware that there are innocent bystanders all around when they're "doing their job". Sheesh. Glad they don't chase me like that, except in my delusional mind when I'm out shopping.
