The Richie Madden Children's Foundation was launched in L.A. this past weekend at the couple's baby shower.  "Nicole and Joel has asked friends to give cribs, strollers and stuffed animals to their foundation," a source said.  The gifts will be made into 100 "Mom-To-Be-Kits" and given away at the Los Angeles Free Clinic.

Richie's Mom Brenda and BFF Paris Hilton were on hand to celebrate the launch and the baby.  Despite reports of boy-themed shopping, Madden insists the pair are waiting to be surprised by the sex of their baby: "We are waiting to find out if it is a boy or a girl. We don't even know. So right now it's an 'it', which sounds wrong. We call it 'the baby'. When we talk to it, it's 'you'."
