Looks like a good week to be an American Idol runner-up. First, one gets engaged and is probably pregnant, and now another kicks ass at the AMAs. Daughtry, Chris Daughtry's self-titled band, won three awards at last night's American Music Awards, taking honors for Favorite Pop/Rock Album and Favorite Breakthrough Artist. Their third award was for best Adult Contemporary Artist, beating out heavyweights such as Norah Jones and John Mayer. If you'll remember, Daughtry, a father of four, was fourth runner up on season five of American Idol
I would make a joke about Taylor Hicks here, but those Soul Patrol people would probably kick my ass.
