I was feeling a little deflated when I heard that Victoria Beckham had dropped fifty-grand on a treehouse as a Christmas gift for sons Brooklyn, 8, Romeo, 5 and Cruz, 2. No way would they be impressed by the deluxe pack of Pokémon cards that I had picked up for them on sale at Target.
But then I saw a picture of the ‘treehouse’, purchased from the Neiman Marcus Fantasy Gifts catalog. What self-respecting little boy would play in this thing? Where's the ladder? Where's the pirate lookout? Where's a place to hang the "No Girlz Allowed” sign? I'd say it looks more like a hot air balloon waiting to be rescued.
Don't worry, Beckham boys - at least you'll have a big set of Pokemon cards to play with in there.
