Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter: The Nightmare During Christmas

By | December 4th, 2007 at 7:44 pm

Tim Burton, the mastermind behind such hits as Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hallow, The Nightmare Before Christmas and the upcoming Sweeney Todd (not to mention at least two movies he has agreed to make for Disney) has a bit of the camp about him.  The guy is a big kid with a twist of goth and tons of genius.  His girlfriend/baby mama Helena Bonham Carter thinks it’s great (so do I).

The couple, who have one child (Billy Ray- not Cyrus) are expecting number two later this month.  In the meantime they have been decorating their house, which is actually two separate but now attached homes, for the Christmas season.  As you might imagine, there is a twist. Take the tree for instance:

“He decorates it with dead babies and slime balls and things,” Carter  tells Playboy
(via People) in its January issue.  “It looks lovely and glittery from afar, and
then as you get closer, you realize it’s rather gory.

“We’re not that dark. What I love about Tim is that he retains a
certain innocence and a childlike quality. He sort of forgot to grow
up. I think I’ve definitely forgotten to grow up, which is great.”

I wonder if they get Danny Elfman to sing them carols.
