Get out your hankies (or do a happy dance, depending on who you are) - Celine Dion had her final show in Las Vegas last night. After five years the pop star's long-running show at Caesars Palace came to an end Saturday night. The rumor is she's being allowed to leave after finally paying off that huge debt she rang up at the Video Keno machines.
In a speech that ran before the show began, Dion said she had wanted to back out of the show while it was in its planning stages after her son Rene Charles, 7, was born. "I wanted to be more successful as a mother than as a singer...It's a pleasure to perform for you, but I'm extremely passionate to be a mother.”
After her last number, Dion was joined onstage by her husband, Rene Angelil and her son. She was then showered with five gazillion rose petals, each one representing a dollar she has made from her Las Vegas shows.
