The 7th season of American Idol is almost upon us and guess who won't be attending?
Executive Producer of Idol, Nigel Lythgoe told reporters that he doesn't believe that Spears, "is in the right shape to serve as a celebrity mentor for the singing hopefuls. There will be no guest appearances on American Idol for Britney Spears any time soon." Smart move.
He continues, "Britney at this moment, I don't think is well enough to do anything and I think she needs looking after rather than being pushed in front of the cameras or pushing herself in front of cameras. I think she needs to get herself together, bless her."
Lythgoe commented that Britney would have been more than welcome last season. "I would have had Britney Spears last year for sure, when I thought she was trying to get it all together again."
