All of you rabid Angelina Jolie fans waiting for the next glimpse of your chosen one will have to wait: The 65th Annual Golden Globe Awards have been cancelled. The awards, set to take place and air this Sunday on NBC is the latest casualty of the ongoing writer's strike.
Most A-listers had already stated that they would honor the Writer's Guild strike by boycotting the show, which had show organizers worried that viewers would stay away.
MTV is reporting that the new plan is for a "stripped down" ceremony instead of the lavish televised show. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which hosts the Globes, will instead make an announcement of the winners as part of an NBC news broadcast; being part of a news event will presumably allow the actors to accept their awards and then move to a press room for interviews and photos.
