I think, by accidental overdose on drugs. He might have had sleepless nights that's why he took some more of the pills. A BIG LOSS. Such a GREAT Actor! He's one of my 3 favorite actors... oh well. If God wants him by his side now, let it be. Prayers for Heath. Love you bro!

It really was a tradgedy that Heath died at such an early age.I was so devastated that I cried,and it is not often that I cry.I would like to send my condolenses to his family and I also hope that Matilda will remember her dad as the strong willed person that we all know and love.

The thought that he may have commited suicide is outragous, he had a daughter, a family that loved him, millions of supportive fans, and friends who all loved him, his career was really taking off he had no reason to take his life, I believe it was accidental and my prayers go out to his daughter, his family, friends and to michelle williams who he shares his daughter with. May god help all of you threw this hard time...

The thought of suicide may be outrageous to some. However, I doubt any of those who which believe that he could have enough stress or ability to do so, should seriously look at the bigger picture. Anyone is capable of suicide, celebrity or not. He has a beautiful family, he lived the American dream, all the money he could ever want but that does not mean he isn't able to buy pills or have some prescribed and take as many as he wishes. Speaking from personal experience, sometimes life may seem a lot harder to some who are emotionaly lost or just dont have all the pieces to the puzzle. Suicide may be possible but let us all hope for the best and see it as God need's an angel and found it in Heath Ledger.

After reading some of these comments, I in turn had to respond. No one HAS a reason(s) to commit suicide if this is the case. I found it bothersome that one would proceed to list the things that Heath Ledger had in life and because of that, he had no reason to end his own life. ANYONE that takes their own life has a similar list, number one being family. Just becuase one does not have wealth or abundances in life is still not a reason to end it. People should pay close attention in their wording. As far as the family and friends of Heath Ledger, my thoughts and prayers go out to you, whatever the cause of death. If indeed the cause is suicide, I can personally relate and for that I am truly sorry.

We do not as yet know the cause of death. How sad that Keith is gone. But as one who is a survivor of my twenty-five-year-old son's suicide, some of these comments are so disheartening. It certainly doesn't help me to see how many people think suicide is simply one option on the problem resolution menu. No, usually, the victim is in such agony...they see no light, no hope. We will always be left with the question...what more could we have done to bring hope? I pray that God will comfort this family and all who have lost a loved one. Love never dies. Susan

I heard that since his role as the joker, he'd been having difficulty sleeping, that the role had messed with his head, and he was prescribed some sleep med... So, I think he just couldn't sleep, as usual, took a generic sleep medication in combination with his prescribed. The combination of strong ingredients could have simply been too much for his body's tolerance. Accidental overdose. Innocent, but nonetheless very disappointing and saddening to hear. Rest in peace, Heath.

How many died in Africa or Iraq at the hands of others yesterday? and all we can do is boo hoo about another poor troubled actor who found his privileged  life to hard to take.

What did he do? NOTHING IMPORTANT it was all for him.  Now if a doctor or scientist who actually does important things dies, no one cares because its not in the celebrity gossip. Get a life.

Looking at more of the information coming out, ie the pills were in his cupboard not strewn around him etc. I think it was a classic accidental overdose (one pill didn't work so took a few more)and his housekeeper is probably kicking herself that when she looked in on him a 1 o'clock and he was face down snoring, that in fact he wasn't snoring but strugglimg for oxygen, that she didn't make any effort to wake him up. tragic! I didn't know him, however, any untimely death is the pits!

It is very sad he passed on at such an early age.  However, no one has the right to pass judgement on anyone.  What bothers me the most is we can not know how he was feeling. Maybe sad, maybe lonely, angry or depressed, maybe all of the above.  Or maybe he was making wrong choices in his life that clouded his judgment.  Suicide is the most horrible thing to do, especially with the pain in puts on everyone that knew and loved him, or even just knew of him, but really, who are we to judge?

Heath Ledger what a talent.... What a great actor. I think that he was lonely and missunderstood. He will be greatly missed. It just seemded like everything stopped when he died. Just like Elvis. God be with the family in there loss.

Seriously, now. This guy plays a homo in a movie and kills himself accidentally or otherwise. It makes front page news like he's a hero. He chickened out of taking care of his 2 year old daughter. Then I have to turn to page 5 in the paper to find out another five American soldiers got killed in Mosul this week. This is media justice in America. Our media is corrupt and run by a corrupt segment of vermin. Read what Marlon Brando had to say about them.

Soldiers, actors, yes.... They all die too.  I loved Heath Ledger so I'm sad about it too.  But what about the >1 Million Iraqies killed since the US came to "uplift the regime".  But maybe it doesn't matter to you because you're not related to any of the casualties.  And, at the end it's just a statistic, like a million sheep or a million whooping cranes.  Your media is correupted, true, but not only in the way you think.

Oh, and don't forget about Africa.

The US is a country that puts it's finger in the affairs of every other country on the planet.  So, it's only fair that your media at least covers these outside issues too.  Are a million people not worth a one-hour special?

I am so sorry that you left us. Stars are our royalty in this country. Many have given so much. Heath leaves quite a legacy. Imagine leaving home at 16 to pursue your dream and them your dream becomes a reality. You will be missed by so many. Farwell sweet prince.

Heath Ledger was the only actor that I respected and liked EVERY movie he was in. (Even Two Hands) His death is tragic, yes, but why is the only cause of death that anyone can talk about is a drug overdose? I thought the pill bottles were pretty full still. That would lead me to believe that what killed him was a bad drug reaction. HELLO! PEOPLE! Doctors are NOT gods. When you take more than one perscription, you MUST ask a pharmasist if it is okay. My best friend was on meds and went to fill another one. Thank goodness the pharmasist knew her and refused to fill the prescription. He said that if they were taken together she would die within hours! It is very possible that Heath told the doctors what prescriptions he was taking when he got more prescriptions in London, but I can bet that he didn't tell the pharmasist. Why? Because people trust doctors to know the interactions of meds or they don't think about it! Even if that is not the way Heath Ledger died, PLEASE people, I urge you to remember to take your health in your hands and DO NOT leave it to the doctors only. One mistake can cost you your life.

By the way....... Heath was gay? If that is the case, than we should send Christian Bale after Bin Laden! He's BATMAN!

The bottom line is Heath is greatly missed and I feel for all of his family right now.  Don't write a comment if it is only to disrespect Heath and put a negative comment on his memorey.  Yes there is a lot of bad stuff happening in the world but by you making those kind of comments you are just adding to all the hate and negativity that adds to these terrible situations and loses that we all suffer from in the end.  RIP Heath and may god bring your family strenght in this hard time.

Wow. I was right. Can't say I'm surprised. It just really ticks me off that they are now saying he was addicted to prescription meds. I was on seven meds and I wasn't addicted, I just really wanted to SLEEP!! NEways, I find it very sad that the media has not mentioned anything about preventing this. They make it sound like it can only happen if you take 6 different meds. Not true! You can die from only taking two types at the prescribed dose. You can die from taking one prescribed med if you take any herbal remedies. All natural does not mean safe. Please, please, for the love of god people, tell everyone you know to be careful and TALK TO A PHARMASIST!!!! They are there to help you. DOCTORS ARE NOT GOD!!!
