Not everyone is celebrating the announcement of Academy Award nominations this morning.  Angelina Jolie, who was on many critics' short list for a Best Actress nominee for A Mighty Heart, was noticeably absent off the list.  In spite of scoring both Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild nominations, Jolie's portrayal of Marianne Pearl, (wife of slain Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl) failed to earn her an Oscar nod.

Us Magazine film critic Thelma Adams blames the slight on the film's poor box office performance as well as the release date of the film.  The movie premiered way back in June, which she says could mean many voters simply forgot about the movie.

Or, maybe the other nominees are better actresses.  Just a theory.
