At least Kate Hudson thinks so. And although I've never met the man, I've always suspected he did. Sure he's cute, has great teeth, nice hair - however, unpleasant body odor cancels out all of the above.
McConaughey has always been viewed as a "free spirit." That was pretty apparent when I watched him on Oprah awhile back. He talked about how he doesn't wear deodorant - how men should smell like men and we all have our own scents, blah blah blah, which to me translated to, Matthew McConaughey probably smells like stale socks and stinky pits. He asked Oprah to smell him, which she did and although she said he smelled good, the brief look on her face said otherwise. I think Oprah probably told a tiny white lie to avoid having an embarrassing situation on her show.
However, someone who isn't afraid to let Mr. McConaughey know that his "natural man odor" isn't so pleasant, is his "Fool's Gold" co-star, Kate Hudson.
According to Contactmusic.com, Matthew said: "She [Kate] always brings a salt rock, which is some natural deodorant, and says, 'Would you please put this on?' I just never wore it. No cologne, no deodorant." Apparently McConaughey hasn't worn "it" for more than 20 years. That's alot of stinky years!
He said: "The women in my life, including my mother, have all said, 'Hey, your natural smell smells, one, like a man, and, two, smells like you." Which, like I said earlier, translates to bad man smell. However, he's not against being clean - he showers several times a day (well duh, he'd have to) and brushes his teeth at least five times a day. Of course his mother isn't going to say that he smells horrible - but good for Kate for having the guts to give the guy a big freakin' hint!
