Britney Spears used to be worth ALOT - now, not so much. In 2007, Spears was listed in Forbes mag as one of THE richest women in entertainment and her net worth was estimated at $100 million.
Howard Grossman, her business manager was tight lipped as to the size and condition of her estate, but it was revealed in court that Spears is ONLY worth $40 million now. Um, only $40 million smackeroos? Gosh, how sad for Brit. How will she ever get through life on FORTY MILLION DOLLARS? I wish I had that problem.
Brit's new lawyer told Pagesix.com that Spears has filed a $17 million IRS tax audit involving Jive Records, in an effort to get money back that had been paid by the label.
Also at issue in the hearing, which continues now, are 15 businesses in Britney's name. Each one of them covers a specific part of her empire, from publishing and touring to her fragrance and other merchandise.
Sure, if someone - Britney's label or any other money grubbing party/person took funds from Spears that they weren't entitled to, that certainly isn't right but the chick still has about $40 million, so I don't think she's going to be living in a cardboard box on Main Street anytime soon. I want to add 'because she's living in a padded room right now,' but that's mean, so I won't say that. Excuse me while I polish my halo.
