Britney's parents have released a statement saying that they believe that her release from hospital yesterday has put her life in grave danger.
Stating that she is an "adult child in the throes of a mental health crisis" whose "life is
presently at risk," her parents said that they were dismayed to learn that their daughter had been
discharged from the University of California-Los Angeles Medical Center
Wednesday over the recommendation of her psychiatrist, according to CNN.
They said the hospital could "best care for her and keep her safe."
"We are deeply concerned about her safety and vulnerability and we believe her life is presently at risk," the statement added.
"There are conservatorship orders in place created to protect our
daughter that are being blatantly disregarded. We ask only that the
court's orders be enforced so that a tragedy may be averted."
It's not clear what, exactly, they understand the threat to be, but after yesterday's paparazzi-clusterf*ck, in which hordes of slavering photogs swarmed Britney on her journey home from the hospital, it's possible that they fear some kind of accident. That, or the whole Sam Lutfi-druggy-kidnap thing, which is deeply alarming in itself. Or the whole Britney-mentally-unstable thing. Anything could happen. I really can't blame them for their fears.
